STAY AWAY FROM VAIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by Glenn Skow Please be aware that there is a known defect in the Vaio line. I personally have had direct experience with this having my Vaio die on me as a result of a “cracked motherboard” only 14 months of having it. It is a known defect in the Vaio design. I urge anyone who reads this to be very catious about buying a Vaio and consider an alternative, more reliable computer.
“The issue stems from the memory SODIMM slots. The solder joints that connect the SODIMM’s to the motherboard are breaking, causing one or both memory modules not to be polled, or counted, towards total system memory…Sony than charges $700-$1200 to repair it”

Overall Nice Laptop by D. Goode This machine was purchased for my wife to do her work-related activities on. My only problem with this machine is that it does not come with a recovery cd/dvd. However, so far, it performs well.
