Keeps my gaming notebook from overheating by Bryan Alkire
Does a good job. My 17″ notebook, an ASUS A7k-A1, used to overheat when I would play any FPS games. It would get to about 70C and cause the monitor to go haywire. With this cooler the temperature stays low enough to keep my games playing smoothly. It keeps the normal operating temperature at about 45C rather than about 56C. I recommend this cooler to anyone needing their laptop kept cool, even for larger laptops.

I just received my Antec Cooler.

Nicely packaged, and attractively designed.

HOWEVER, after pugging her in, only one fan was turning.

I thought I might have to return it. I looked carefully

at the fans, and found that one fan blade was jammed against the

fan housing preventing it from turning. (it’s barely visible)

The SOLUTION: Take a pen, and gently push the blade down through the hole off the housing. It actually snapped away and began tuning.

THIS IS POOR QUALITY CONTROL, NOT BAD DESIGN OR ENGINEERING.

Shame on the QC people……This one didn’t get tested.

It is a good design, functions well, and uses quality fans.

Suggestion: Try moving your notebook around on the cooler top if you think it’s not cooling well, and run it on HIGH. ALWAYS

Great Notebook Computer Cooler! by Flight Attendant
The Antec Notebook Cooler is a wonderful thing.

I initially bought this item to cool the iBook when using it on a desk and I bought another item, a laptop cooling pad, for use when I was actually holding the iBook on my lap. I returned the laptop cooling pad because the Antec notebook cooler is all I need. The Antec is quiet and efficient and keeps the heat level down. I’m sure this will do wonders to prolong the computer and battery life.

The base has large flat rubber nonskid pads that keep it in place on a counter, table, or desk and also serve well to keep the computer from sliding around on the lap.

It is light weight and has recesses on either side so lifting the computer and the cooler together is easy and secure. The Antec cooler lifts the computer up about 1 1/8″ from the work surface. This includes the height of the rubber bumpers that elevate the computer from the surface of the cooler and keep it secure from slipping.

The Antek runs on DC power and plugs into the computer USB port and has a pass-through connector to accept another USB device which must be require no more than 0.1 Amp or 0.5 watts. There are two fan speeds and I have found no need to use the high setting. The low setting keeps everything cool and in unobtrusive.

This is a great investment and I wish I had been using it from the first day I brought my computer home. I would recommend this to everyone with a notebook computer and I plan to buy this item as a gift for friends.

I highly recommend it. It would be a bargain at twice the price.

An Excellent Product by Ramona Khillawan
An excellent product. It does exactly what it is supposed to do and works well with my 17″ HP laptop.

What I didn’t expect, but like is the little storage below for the power cable when it’s not in use.

The ability to use the USB it’s pulling power from is a BIG PLUS.

It’s silent and light weight. I’ve recommended for many friends as it extends the life of your laptop.
